Art work Description:
Using photographs and sketches made on-site, Lam creates graceful, radiant paintings of male and female figures originally sculpted from marble. He achieves an ephemeral glow through a Pointillist treatment of space, light and shape combined with a delicate, subtle use of colour. Some paintings are juxtaposed with applied pieces of metal on the canvas and contemporary handcrafted metal frames as a further tribute of the present giving reverence to the past.
