Art work Description:
Using ready-made iconography in the urban landscape, Kao creates two- and three-dimensional installations of arabesques that consist of interwoven layers of rubber and velour cut-outs works on paper. They explore a diverse cross-section of sources, employing graffiti, camouflage and decorative architectural motifs and embellishments in tapestry and lace to produce an intricate and rhythmic sequence of interlaced, embossed contours.
