| Patrick Wilson is known for his seductive, beautifully designed and flawlessly finished abstract paintings. His brand of minimalism is enhanced with a rich color sensibility and musicality. In this piece Wilson radically paints a second and third painting on top of the first to create a visual tension. This split hyperspace creates a discord that is playful and fun to look at, the ultimate goal of this group of paintings.
The California native Wilson received a BA from the University of California at Davis in 1993 and a MFA from Claremont University in 1995. His work has been exhibited around the country with recent shows in San Francisco, Culver City and Washington, D.C. and is in numerous private and public collections including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Smithsonian, Creative Artist Agency and 20th Century Fox. He has been represented by the Rebecca Ibel Gallery since 2004.
