| This whimsical painting of a fish by Bo Liang is adorable. Liang has done a number of fish, both in paintings and in sculptures, all with a little whimsy of one sort or another. In this painting, the focus is on the explosion of color in this puffed up fish. He is immersed in a sea whose dominant color is burnt orange with touches of dark red and yellow. Green and bluish wavy lines in the sea give him a sense of movement and little impasto details make the sea slightly bubbly. The fish, himself, is done in a rainbow of colors, so, perhaps, he is a rainbow trout. The overall effect is a simple, playful, colorful piece that is pleasing to the eye.
