Art work Description:
Flora Parrot was the visiting artist from the UK for the Megalo Printmaker in Residency program in 2006. During her six week stay Flora created a full sized parachute, stitched together from pieces of printed silk. The printed pieces included digital prints, etchings and screenprinted elements on the theme of mend and make do. Reference material for the work was sourced from WWII archives in Britain, South Africa and Australia. Flora is currently seeking opportunities to exhibit the parachute locally and internationally.
