An offshoot of Connoisseur Art Gallery, 82 Republic is a contemporary art space showcasing never-before-seen works, from playful acrylic paintings to edgy fibreglass sculptures. Launched in October 2006, it represents only the best art talents born around the 1980s, including top graduates from art schools around the world and aims to represent fresh, unique, progressive trends and perspectives in contemporary art.

"Derivative" - Solo Exhibition of Wan Yang

Born in 1983 in Chongqing, China, WAN Yang is the youngest in Connoisseur Contemporary’s stable list of new and emerging art stars, but his works are by no means amateurish. WAN’s works show how a simple, original idea can be sculpted into beautiful art works on canvas, and how the minimal but ingenious employment of colours can create depth and dimension to a painting. Together, this long-awaited solo exhibition reflects the growing-up process of WAN as a young artist – his artistic journey and development over the past year.
