The work consists of an installation of the rubbish accumulated by the artist and his family during one calendar year - cleaned, catergorised and displayed along the wall stretching the entire length of the gallery space and through its reception area. Collective is looking for the next generation of Scotland’s artists, writers and producers to take part in this year’s New Work Scotland Programme (NWSP).
NWSP is a collective initiative recognised as giving Scottish based graduates their first significant visual art project or commission. Through an annual open application NWSP identifies and supports some of the most promising new practitioners working in the visual arts in Scotland.
NWSP develops each year and 2011 sees the introduction of a theme, extended eligibility now up to six years out of college/university, a NWSP retreat at Hospitalfield, the opportunity to undertake a residency at Studio Voltaire, London or MAP, Glasgow and Collective is collaborating with Tramway for NWSP 2011.
For full information, guidelines and application forms, visit Collective's website.
