g-module first appeared in Paris in 2001 with the vocation to be a window for the New York art scene, by presenting a selection of emerging artists hardly ever exhibited in Europe. These artists, having singular and different creative personalities, all emphasize an impure manner of artistic research mixing scientific, political and journalistic sources to experimental forms of representation. At once, they interact with history, and veer away from it by means of a lucid delirium, automatism, or even derision. They all converge somehow into one single gaze on the contemporary world, a perception also defining g-module's point of view.

g-module is pleased to announce the third solo exhibition of Brooklyn-based artist Vargas-Suarez Universal at the gallery. Vargas-Suarez Universal is an explorer of both art and science. The history of landscape painting, aerospace visualization technologies, and the visual display of quantifiable information are all key components to the present body of work. The exhibition will consist of a single, immense painting and drawings of various formats, presented as a multi-media installation.
"Next Green Sphere" is a scientific community term, referring to the watery past of Mars, and its habitable terraformation future state. It also refers to Mars as a planetary lab for research, education, and towards a better understanding of life in our solar system's natural history. Since the early 1960’s, the planet continues to be surveyed, documented and photographed to further understand the new “New World”. Vargas-Suarez Universal explains…
“It is suggested that humans will colonize Mars within the next 100 years. Mars is not just a place on the star charts, but a topographical oddity viewed from a distant location, with a r...[ Read all ] |
