Artist run space. Based on the assumption that art thrives in economically challenged times, JAUS opens its door to the public and provides a modestly scaled yet striking exhibition space whose long term operation is totally non-dependent on sales or funding. We have no set parameters on the type of work to be exhibited, and whatever parameter we might have is highly subject to change. We are most interested in artists without gallery representation in L.A. whose work can get people talking.

Although the interpretation of the apocalypse was originally biblical – the Revelation and Forthcoming Day of Judgement – it has become more widespread and secular over the course of history, both in spoken usage and in its general perception.
The artists in this exhibition all address modern-day apocalyptic themes, such as poli...[ Read all ] |

JAUS is very pleased to present the group exhibition Riding the Frothing Thread: Notes From Paris curated by Etienne Bernard & Céline Kopp featuring works by a group of young French artists in their first appearance in Los Angeles

One can only repeat how influential and fascinating the city has been for European intellectuals over the years and how relevant some of the experiments led in LA are for young international artists today. More than anything, it is interestin...[ Read all ] |
