The Jerusalem Print Workshop, established in 1974, is the largest and most senior of its kind in Israel. During the last thirty-six years the workshop has invited scores of Israeli and International artists to explore the unlimited possibilities of printmaking. Every year the workshop gives a selected group of artists the opportunity to create prints under the best conditions. The print collection published by the workshop is the largest and of the best quality in the country, representing a unique cross-section of Israeli art. It includes etchings, screen-prints, woodcuts, lithographs and artists' books. All prints and artists' books are signed by the artists and published in limited editions. The workshop initiates unique artistic projects and collaborations that expand the realm of printmaking as a cutting-edge medium, and encourages the discourse between printmaking and other artistic media, like painting, photography, sculpture, video and installation.

Still Point - Group Exhibition
The unique print collection of the Workshop offers a cross-generational overview of central artistic genres. Abstraction is one of them. In this exhibition we have chosen to show abstract prints in which the figurative is present in a suggestive manner. The abstract in the works is formed out of a confrontation with the print surface, with the conceptual grid, and with the rhythm of the line in the pictorial space. The presence of figurative elements – landscapes, internal spaces, and private memories – creates an experience of constant tension and mutual enrichment for the spectator.
Dov Heler: Tel Gamma: A story that begins in war
In Dov Heller’s art, story is the very essence of life, of the possibility of understanding, empathy, or protest, the very essence of his aesthetic thinking. Heller begins with a private epic, a combination of realistic starting point and personal mythology that reaches compositions both metaphoric and poetic, beyond time and space.

Seven Women artists at the Jerusalem Print Workshop

The development of the discourse concerning the body and its freedom, the boundaries between the "Self" and the "Other" is of particular importance in today's Israeli society and culture. "Feminine Metabolism" assembles seven Israeli women artists from different backgrounds and ages who explore and expose inner processes such as anxieties, physical unease, abjection and surplus, regeneration and degeneration. They have been invited to conduct their exploration in the various printmaking techniques along side other media such as painting, photography, sculpture and installation. Their entire work creates a fascinating platform for a contemporary discussion on gender, biology, culture and art practices.
