Asia Fine Art

Asia Fine Art Limited was formed in Hong Kong some eight years ago to represent a fresh approach to promoting emerging artists from the Asia region.

The directors have been buying fine art from Vietnam and China for more than ten years and have been collectors of fine art for more than 30 years. It was felt there was a need to better represent the interests and needs of both the artists in the region and collectors worldwide - so we formed Asia Fine Art Limited (AFA).

To reach a broader art collecting clientele AFA has a rolling program of exhibitions both in Hong Kong and overseas, more than 20 events each year. In 2010 we will exhibit in Beijing, Shanghai, Zurich and London.

The AFA website shows a wide range of styles and mediums from our gallery artists, currently some 60 artists from 7 countries.

To further meet the discerning requirements of our clients, AFA is considering working gallery partnerships in Europe and North America.

AFA is a working gallery committed to representing and promoting emerging artists from Asia. We want to put the fun back into... [ Read all ]

Through the Eyes of Lim Khim Katy

Lim Khim Katy is, without doubt, the most outstanding contemporary artist in Vietnam today.

Katy was born to a Chinese Cambodian father and a Vietnamese mother, who met when they attended art class. With these inherited genes it is little wonder that she has blossomed to become such a creative and naturally talented artist.

She senses the feelings generated from life around her - from peoples eyes, gestures and the individual emotions they express. Her paintings are influenced by her observations of the hardships of middle class and poor people going about their daily lives.

“My paintings come from the innocence of the ordinary people, the way they live, the way they work and the way they accept their difficult lifestyle - seeing this everyday, really makes me think”.

Painting, exclusively with palette knife, her new works are decidedly more tranquil and serene. This collection of works for her special exhibition, titled ‘Through the Eyes of L...[ Read all ]

Asia Fine Art presents
Carnival of Dialogues
Yonaton Levy Debut Hong Kong Solo Exhibition

Opening Reception : Thursday 20th October - 05.00 to 9.00pm (artist will be in attendance)
Exhibition dates : 20th October – 20th November 2011 (10.30am to 6:30pm daily)
Venue : Asia Fine Art Gallery, 14 Sik On Street, 99 - 101 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong

With vibrant colors and ecstatic sensuality, Yonatan Levy's canvases offer a world of invented characters communicating by ambiguous gestures and intriguing body language. Levy's figures are entwined in each other, as if fulfilling their existence by each other. This carnival of dialogues exudes the feeling that the characters are having a conversation or are preparing for some kind of narrative. Levy creates an experience that can seem as group eroticism, with an undercurrent of humor and playfulness.
“Throughout my painting process, there is an embedded friction between strictness and unpredictability. This friction serves as a tool for me to explore the boundaries between the concrete and the ambiguous, between the real and the imaginary.
