Futurehead – Whitney Durrel, Aric Grauke & Justin Nighbert
On Friday, March 2, from 6 – 9 p.m., Donkey Gallery presents *Futurehead*, featuring the work of Whitney Durrel, Aric Grauke, and Justin Nighbert.
*Futurehead*. Using high, middle and low technologies the artists in *
Futurehead* assimilate and/or approximate new digital attitudes toward the new psychedelic and the new abstract. The results are the softly explosive video-sequences of Justin Nighbert, Whitney Durrel's topo-relief "plastic" paintings, and the strange, genome-generated images of Aric Grauke. Literally Post industrial, the work surprises with its insistence on pressure and stress as an agent of change, ironically revealing a quiet and foreign beauty.
