Perif Gallery was created by the end of 2004 in Dashanzi 798 old factory art district of Beijing when it was almost impossible for any foreign artist to exhibit its work in China. While the Chinese art market was booming, most of the galleries and the public were mainly focused on Chinese artists, other vision of art faced a real challenge in terms of visibility.
Since the opening Perif showcased about 30 international artists. Perif is named after pole apart strategies, its Chinese name is "Ling Pi Xi Jing": open an alternative way.
