Jenny Grevatte: 'Still life'
The gallery is pleased to show the still life paintings of Jenny Grevatte. These paintings add a further dimension to those who are familiar with her landscapes, which the gallery has shown over the past year. Strong drawing and the subtle application of colour and manipulation of surface characterise her work.
The paintings will be shown along side the ceramics of John Wright, who is showing a range of new work. The inspiration for the intense blue glaze and strong linear designs are drawn from visits to Venice.
Allyson Austin monoprints demonstrate a dramatic response to her subject. Using the simplest, most direct form of printmaking, Allyson Austin creates powerful and arresting monotypes that confront earth’s most dynamic, natural phenomena. The richness of Allyson's colour and markmakng is enhanced by the remarkable scale of the work.
