Langhans Galerie Praha

A non-profit Organization for the promotion of photography

open since 2003, focused on photography, reference library, Café

Langhans Gallery Prague was founded in 2003 at the initiative of Zuzana Meisner-Wismer, a great-granddaughter of Jan Langhans. As a not-for-profit organization, its main activity is to hold exhibitions of classic and contemporary photography (including new media) with an emphasis on ‘man and society’. The small team of the Langhans Gallery Prague works with curators from the Czech Republic and abroad. The Gallery devotes its space to retrospectives of individual photographers and single themes. It also publishes catalogues to accompany some of these exhibitions. The financing of the Gallery is ensured by regular investment by its founders, with grants from the state and the city as well as the support of other institutions, both Czech and foreign.
