LiveBox, a non-for profit space, utilizes Chicago and its neighborhoods as gallery, bringing new media art to the people of Chicago. LiveBox also seeks collaborative relationships with like-minded galleries and museums to create new media events.

LiveBox Mission:

We’ve grown up with video and we live in a media-glutted world, yet the moving image is still magic. The illusion of presentness and direct involvement is ever more palpable today as contemporary screen based art encompasses the vast arena of new media, interactive art and installations. LiveBox is committed to the broader reaches that new technology portends. LiveBox's focus is filmic and new media art. Single channel and video installation will be the primary medium, however, web based, real time, interactive work; fundamentally any compelling new media idea fitting an appropriation with the screen will be considered.

LiveBox Youth brings the possibilities of screen based art to young people; demonstrating and educating young people on the creative possibilities which exist beyond chat rooms and video games.
