Redux Contemporary Art Center is a non-profit gallery and studio center created to encourage and promote all contemporary visual art media. We assist emerging and under represented visual artists through providing affordable 24 hour access to professional studio facilities, financial and technical assistance to artists, innovative educational programs, public lectures, and original exhibitions.

Kevin Jones--"Source Coding." Artist Kevin Jones investigates the natural world through charts, diagrams and technological systems. The work is often presented as interactive installations driven by micro-controllers that are complex systems within themselves.

Redux is the premier contemporary art venue in South Carolina offering opportunities for emerging and established artists to exhibit in historic downtown Charleston, SC. Exhibitions are not limited to any media, and all applicants will be considered for solo, group, and two person shows.
Redux also invites artists with proposals for independent projects to apply for Fully Sponsored Residencies. Up to four awarded artists per year will receive free access to a Redux Studio, and other benefits listed below, for a period of up to eight weeks.
Individuals sponsored by other organizations and foundations may receive materials and services in addition to:
-$700 stipend
-free 24-hour studio access to 120 sq ft studio.
-private storage space.
-free use of all available tools and equipment.
-free slide documentation and other administrative support.
-free use of darkroom and print studio facilities.
-Exhibition to be scheduled at the end of your residency.
There is only one residency selected per season.

Call for Entries:
The Redux Contemporary Art Center in Charleston, SC will present “Exquisite Corpse” an exhibition celebrating this unique surrealist drawing technique. The exhibition occupies an “Exquisite Corpse” music event, featuring 8 composers who are creating works with the same technique. All visual art entries will be accepted and exhibited. No application fee is required.

Guidelines:
-All submissions must contain a completed application form
-All submissions must contain original drawings (no slides or cds)
-Each drawing must contain each artists name, one return address with telephone number, and drawing title.
-Work that is to be for sale must contain a non-refundable $10 sales transaction fee
-Artists will receive 100% of sale price; all sale prices will be $50 for 81/2”x 11” and $75 for any larger size drawing.
-All entries must be unframed
