Turnpike Gallery

Purpose built in 1971 the Turnpike Gallery in Leigh, Greater Manchester, is a public gallery space run by Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, showing a range of temporary exhibitions. Focusing mainly on contemporary art, the gallery presents a mix of local, regional, national and international artists, through touring exhibitions, new commissions, and collaborations.

Artists Represented

Since the first exhibition by Henry Moore the Turnpike has presented work by established and emerging British and international artists over the last 38 years, including Richard Hamilton, David Hockney, Andy Warhol, Antoni Tapies, Howard Hodgkin, Tracey Emin, Paul Rooney, Maria Marshall, Tania Kovats, Alia Syed, Keith Tyson, Tony Bevan, Tal R, Annelies Strba, A K Dolven, Martin Parr, Richard Billingham, Hannah Starkey, Andrew Bick, Willie Williams, Caroline Broadhead and Susie MacMurray.
