The 30th Anniversary – PART I
Group show with Peter Blake, Jim Dine, Barry Flanagan, Sam Francis, Helen Frankenthaler, John-E Franzén, Richard Hamilton, Jasper Johns, Allen Jones, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Ed Ruscha, Frank Stella, Bernar Venet, Andy Warhol and Tom Wesselmann.
In 2008, Wetterling Gallery turns 30 years and we are happy to celebrate this with three separate anniversary exhibitions. Part I, Part II and Part III will show the gallery’s journey from the early days in Gothenburg up to today. Part I – that will open on September 16 - comprises of the oldest generation of artists represented by the gallery, among them the classic pop artists, conceptual artists and other pioneers of contemporary art. These internationally acclaimed artists have etched their names in the history of art. Together they contributed to redefine the definition of art from the 1960s onward. In the 1980s they set the gallery’s course from which its profile emerged.
