Europe comes Pöchlarn – Pöchlarn goes Europe
It was the idea of Barbara Kamptner, Atanas Kolev and Gerhard Maller to invite international artists to a symposium located in Pöchlarn, the town where Oskar Kokoschka was born.
At the beginning was the idea - and ideas need people to realize them.
“Atelier at the Danube” found those people, namely Pöchlarn’s citizens, who like to go to the café, have visions, organize things, and wonder whether the idea works.
Different characters and talents, who work free of charge and do everything in their power to set Pöchlarn, the birthplace of Oskar Kokoschka, up as a meeting-place for artists and carry it into our new and bigger Europe.
For 10 days artists from East and West gathered together in the city at the Danube to live and work there and to let the public have an insight to their work. During this very first event grew a symbiosis between the participants and the city Pöchlarn.
