Ubu Gallery

Ubu Gallery was founded in 1994, and since 2003 has been partnered with Galerie Berinson, Berlin (www.berinson.de). Ubu has presented over 50 exhibitions of 20th Century avant-garde art, with a focus on 1920s and 1930s Dada, Surrealism and Constructivism. The gallery exhibits paintings, drawings, photography, collage, sculpture, and ephemera (books, posters, graphic design, etc.) and, wherever possible, highlights the interrelationships among these art forms.

Press Releases

Ubu Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of 33 Surrealist collages, collaboratively created by André Breton, Paul Éluard and Suzanne Muzard. The gallery will simultaneously present Transmissions, a contextual exhibition featuring artists in direct relationships with Breton, Éluard and Muzard. Transmissions will focus on significant artists represented in the gallery's inventory, including Georges Hugnet, Hans Bellmer and David Hare.


Location And Getting There

416 East 59th Street

Ubu is located at 416 East 59th Street (between First Avenue and Sutton Place) on the south side of the street. The gallery is situated within the Grand Sutton (a residential building at 418 East 59th St.) and has its own ground floor entrance just to the right of the main entrance.
