Out of the Grapevine, a solo exhibition by Paul Madonna featuring drawings, prints, and a limited edition folio.
July 19 - August 18, 2007
This exhibition centers around the series of drawings for "Out of the Grapevine" where ten images, each accompanied by one line of text, unite to tell a poignant tale of family, memory, panic and the Interstate. These original drawings will be exhibited alongside a folio containing the entire suite of images including letterpress narrative text.
In addition to the folio, we will be presenting an edition of prints by Paul Madonna commissioned by 826 Valencia, featuring the 826 Valencia storefront. Sales of this print benefit 826 Valencia's program of supporting students aged 6 to 18 with their writing skills, and helping teachers get their students excited about the literary arts.
Paul Madonna's "All Over Coffee" strip appears in the San Francisco Chronicle. His recently published hardcover collection by City Lights will be available for sale in our store.

Location And Getting There |
Electric Works is located at 130 8th Street, San Francisco.
BART:
We are reachable by public transportation via BART at THE Civic Center stop.
Walk southwest on Market Street toward 8th Street. Make a left and walk southeast on 8th until you reach 130.
MUNI:
The 14, 14L, and 26 lines all run both directions on Mission Street. Get off at 8th and Mission and walk half a block southeast to 130 8th Street.
There are numerous bus lines that run along Market Street. Simply take one to 8th Street and head southeast down 8th Street until you reach 130.
The F streetcar line also runs down Market Street. Get off at 8th and head southeast on 8th until you reach 130.

101 North
Take the 9th St exit 433C to Civic Center
Turn left at 9th Street
Turn right at Mission Street
Turn right at 8th Street
or, if traffic is bad on 101, try this
280 North to 6th Street
Turn left on Minna Street

Continue on Richardson Ave
Slight left at Lombard St
