The least one can say about the works of Klaus Verscheure is that they are somehow confronting and invite to reflect. Both series 'Hanging Trees' and 'Smiling Faces' show events under a dark constellation. Black is the universe of the scenes, black the soul of the subject. Aggression and pain are thrown straight in your face. Brushed violence is literally dripping off the paper work. Large gouache works fill the space in the Museumstraat and then creep in your head to stay.
