Gallery/Dealer Details - DEWEER gallery
The DEWEER gallery was founded as Deweer Art Gallery in 1979 by Mark and Marleen Deweer-Deprez in Otegem, a small village in the south of the Belgian province of West Flanders. The gallery team consists of the Deweer family (Mark, Marleen and their two sons Bart and Gerald) plus Jo Coucke and Dries Verstraete, both art historians.
In about 6 exhibitions a year, the gallery presents its seÂlection of both upcoming and established artists from the international contemporary visual arts.
In a history of almost 30 years, the gallery has presented an impressive series of solo and group shows including Siegfried Anzinger, Stephan Balkenhol, Georg Baselitz, Günter Brus, Lawrence Carroll, Tony Cragg, Enzo CucÂchi, Braco Dimitrijevic, Jiri Georg Dokoupil, Jan Fabre, Rainer Fetting, Günther Förg, David Hockney, Allen Jones, Ilya Kabakov, Imi Knoebel, Marie-Jo Lafontaine, Thomas Lange, Gerhard Merz, Aernout Mik, Josef Felix Müller, Mimmo Paladino, Panamarenko, A.R. Penck, Bernhard Prinz, Thomas Ruff, Hans Vandekerckhove, Koen Vanmechelen, Thomas Virnich and Mark Wallinger, often at an early stage in their international artistic career.
