Press Releases - LatoArt
[New York, NY] – LATOART, based in Gibraltar and only representing Eastern European contemporary artists is pleased to announce its first participation in the 2010 Affordable Art Fair, September 29–October 3, at 7 West 34th St. This is LATOART’s first art fair and has chosen the Affordable Art Fair for its welcoming and fun atmosphere combined with its commitment to bring quality artwork to its visitors. LATOART, located in Booth A-101 will focus on artists from Bulgaria for its first presentation in the United States, specifically featuring the works of:
Anton Antonov, Painting, Veliko Turnovo: Antonov’s timeless paintings are firmly rooted in classical art yet bring a contemporary vision to his viewers. Masking his own emotions through his subjects, Antonov himself remains a mystery yet an illustrative and prolific painter.
Alexander Genov, Painting, Stara Zagora, Bulgaria: Alexander Genov’s work is a clear expression of himself—thoughts, emotions, experiences all put to canvas in a skilled and deliberate manner. His vibrant colors and technique present the viewer with a vignette filled with a range of emotions to absorb.
Margarita Rachkova, Mixed Media on canvas, Dryanovo, Bulgaria: Margarita Rachkova, a teacher, fills each artwork with a lesson. Using symbolism to convey her messages each work reads like a short story holding a life lesson. In these mixed media works, Margarita often uses classic literature as a beginning to her painting by elaborately decorating a letter in her work, similar to early manuscripts and books and even classic fairy tales.
Rumen Rachkova, Sculpture, Dryanovo, Bulgaria: Rumen Rachkova creates intriguing and sometimes erotic sculptures from paper and glue. Limited by his materials the sizes of these works remain in general below 30 inches in height but take on a grander presence by their seemingly fragile nature; however, upon closer inspection viewers find that these works are indeed very durable. His sculptures will add some playful character to the LATOART booth at the Fall Affordable Art Fair.
