Following London, Tokyo and Los Angeles, this will be the first solo show in Berlin of Li Yan, the great outsider of the Beijing art circle . FU RAO: Chimaeras
Fu Rao is a Chinese painter from Dresden. His near monochrome paintings, laid down by broad brushstrokes but nevertheless displaying a fine texture, reveal the deeper layers of our everyday life. The earthy, half animal and half human hybrid creatures merge with the household or natural environments in which they are set. Everything seems animated, but threatened at the same time by the forthcoming decline. „Dust are thou and to dust thou shall return.“ (Genesis 3:19)
