IMAGE UPLOADING PROBLEMS:
The system only accepts jpg images.
Please convert all images to jpg.
The images must be under 2mb in size
The system accepts and will re-size your images on your behalf but ideally the images should be no larger then 72dpi.
To re-size images and pixel size on a Photoshop program please select the image go to 'Image', 'Image size'
The width can be adjusted (500 pixel width is an ideal size for the system, it accepts a larger pixel width but if you are experiencing problems please try re-sizing to 500 pixels in width)
You can also adjust the dpi ('Resolution'). Please adjust this to: 72 pixel/inch
Please save the image titles as simply as possible for example save them as a.jpg or b.jpg to prevent any problems with the upload.
Please prevent saving the images using symbols, numbers or dashes for example ' / - 12 ; #
e.g. my_image-124#.jpg
As this may affect the upload
If the image appears as a broken image with a red cross or appears as blank, then the image is an incorrect format and needs to be saved as a jpg using the guidelines above.
Saatchi Online users:
LOADING LARGER IMAGES
Saatchi Online users can load up to eight images onto their profile, images can be replaced, adjusted
and changed
Stuart users can load an unlimited amount of images onto their profile, images can be replaced, adjusted and changed
Please remember that to load larger images the original image must be deleted. This also deletes any text associated with the image, so please ensure that you save the text ready to re-load
If you are experiencing problems loading larger images and text, please ensure that you are loading jpg's, and load the image first. Please load the text as an 'edit' after the program has accepted the larger image

The profile will only go live when an image has been added to the profile.
Please register with an image as attempting to register without an image will not be accepted.
A-Z
Once registered your name as it appears on your page will be put into the A-Z that features on the Saatchi Online page. It will appear in the Saatchi Online A-Z, if your name does not appear immediately or you cannot see your profile then there has been an error with the upload. Please check your images and try again.
We would suggest loading two images with no text to begin with and then when you are confident that the site is live you can add the details, so that should any problems occur you won't have to go through the whole process again

Frequently Asked Questions - SHOWDOWN
Q: The Website says that I have already voted for an artwork. But I haven't. Why is this happening?
1. You may be sharing your internet connection with someone. This is often the case if you have more than one computer in your work place. If a vote has been registered from computers sharing the same internet connection you will not be able to vote again as this would be registered on our system as multiple voting.
2. If you only have one computer in your place of work or in your home, it is often the case that your internet service provider might be sharing your internet connection with other customers. In this case as above, you will not be able to vote.
Q: Sometimes the number of votes registered for some artworks increases dramatically. Why does this happen?
1. We have noticed that visitors to Showdown often place their favourite works in the favourites box whilst they browse through Showdown over a few days. Their voting decisions are made in the last 48 hours before the round ends. This helps to explain why the number of votes on some artworks sometimes increases rapidly.
2. Each competitor has his/her own way of promoting their artwork, including getting large numbers of friends, family and sometimes even entire colleges to vote for their work. If each of these voters are using individual computers the vote is legitimately registered. Obviously it is bad sportsmanship to encourage people to downgrade other competitors with low votes, and we hope that in time the spirit of Showdown, and the sheer weight of visitors, will level things out.
3. Our system detects when manipulated proxy servers are being used. It also alerts us of any sudden shifts in voting and occasionally this creates the numbers to go haywire until we investigate and eliminate anything untoward.
