Alan Baker has won the Benson and Hedges illustrators gold award, Gold Creative Circle award, Silver Campaign Press award. IRA/CBC. Childrens Choice award and was a flair Creative match winner [Nov 04]. He illustrated The Battle of bubble and squeak, by Philippa Pearce which won the 1978 whitbread book award, as well as Joni Mitchel's both sides now,[ Y.E.S. award of excellence-USA] and Michael Rosen's Hairy tales and nursery crimes - [No 1 best seller]. Louis de Berniere's Red Dog received a V&A illustration award nomination 2002]. He has also written and illustrated over 40 books of his own, six of which have been chosen for the book of the year list. These include the Little Rabbit series which have sold over 750,000 copies to date worldwide. White Rabbit's color book was a 2008 IBBY choice. Over the years his work has been selected for the Best of British, and Best of European illustration annuals. More recently he has been producing illustrations for the Guardian wall charts.
