Hand drawn lines and images jostle for significance, the intertwined marks desperate for individual attention.

Oh this is fantastic. Eye catching and intense. This is the one I wanted to enlarge and see in bigger format. That's telling!

posted by: Clair Graubner | 29/06/2008

Otimo, contemporâneo sofisticado. Linhas simples e intensas.

posted by: glaucia olinger | 12/06/2008

love love love this. in my opinion this is the winner. I'd buy this if only to look at the cover...

I really liked this one. Pity it did not win.

posted by: Liz | 11/05/2008

Too cold, and too scratchy - not for me

posted by: Jane Dwyer | 05/05/2008

Nice, very well excuted but too Steadman for me and that might put off some readers.

posted by: Carl | 05/05/2008

Too muddled and not very appealing at a distcane - aren't book covers supposed to catch your eye from across the shop

posted by: John Morris | 04/05/2008

?????????

posted by: hugh thomas | 03/05/2008

i'm also not happy with the scratching, rest is good if a little anaemic

posted by: artist | 02/05/2008

Do not care much about the scratchy area when everything else is done well, it distracts, but compared to the ones on this list very promising. A classical style that has not lost its edge.

Yes.

Anon, this one give a class leson to the ''simply and strong'' one before

posted by: Raluca | 30/04/2008

Looks like Ralph Steadman! Really like this image but think the font should be bright red or something to stand out. Concerned that it might get lost on a shelf. Nice space for a '3 for 2' sticker!

posted by: anon | 30/04/2008

It is necessary time for the judges to retire!! How to choose these 20 book covers. Other participants were much better, certainly this competition is big one joke!

posted by: Amy | 30/04/2008

I have a different opinion,is a relief to see it here, even if was not in my top 5 before! At least have a now-days style.Good luck!

posted by: speechless | 30/04/2008

a nice draft - unfortunatly it isnt worked out stylistically

posted by: dora | 30/04/2008

Interesting and modern!Good luck!

posted by: Gustav | 28/04/2008

Still my favourite.

posted by: Gabriela Lehner | 23/04/2008

interesting, contemporary, i like the little bit of colour just off centre and the odd little figures, nice change from the sexed up semi nudes that seem to be a favourite subject in this contest, really good!

posted by: lisa | 04/04/2008

I find that the computer rub-out marks at the top, don't quite fit in with the picture.

posted by: Mandy Kabirschke | 22/03/2008

I like this picture a lot, it looks like a good book cover

posted by: hugh thomas | 02/03/2008

posted by: Kamilla | 02/03/2008

Excellent illustration, good typography, lines and space. Best I've seen so far.

I really do enjoy this illustration. It feels as though static charge has built up in it and could possibly emit a whirring sound if held closely to the ear!
