This is not the cover for an adult book - looks like a kids book I agree. Also, I like that it has colour as so many entries have that lacking - but the design does not appeal to the target audience - me - I like Arcade Fire and The Royal Tenenbaums and the Flaming Lips. I would not choose this

I like this one - in fact it's the only one on the shortlist I do like, so good luck! Not sure that it appeals to the target group but hell, I'd buy it anyway ...

Visually superb, but not about this book?

posted by: Sherry Joubert | 01/05/2008

Love the design and colors one of my favorite art designs but as it happens not for this book - more suited for childrens. I am sure Harper can find a home for it.

I give more credit to the target readers,to think they will pick this colorful cover more suitable for children literature.Primary colors pallette are eye cathing indeed, but this novel is a postmodern one...for adults! In any case, great illustrators for children literature can be found here: http://www.pencil-ilustradores.com/pencil.html...No offence Sally,I wish you good luck....

Lovely concept, certainly one of the few in the final 20 with any trace of colour or life, well done !

It is necessary time for the judges to retire!! How to choose these 20 book covers. Other participants were much better, certainly this competition is big one joke!

This one is not for our target readers but for younger audience10-12yo.And the play with primary colours red, blue, yellow did not help at all.I prefer M.Bellamy version if it is to be for kids.Sorry:-(
