Getting There - Boston Museum of Fine Arts

Public Transportation
Subway
Because our limited parking fills up quickly—especially during popular exhibitions—we encourage you to take advantage of the MBTA, Boston's public transportation system (known by natives as the "T").

Take the Green Line "E" train to the "Museum of Fine Arts" stop, or the Orange Line train to the "Ruggles" stop.

Fare for the T begins at $1.25 for most locations in town, but prices increase for travel from outlying areas.

Bus
Take the 39 bus to the "Museum of Fine Arts" stop, or the 8, 47, or CT2 buses to the "Ruggles" stop.

Parking
There are two Museum lots: one is a covered garage on the left side of Museum Road; the other is an open-air parking lot on the right side of Museum Road, just beyond the garage. Because parking at and near the MFA is limited and fills up fast--especially during popular exhibitions and school vacation weeks--the MFA encourages visitors to carpool or use public transportation.

Parking Rates
Members: $2.50 each half hour; $12.00 maximum/day
Nonmembers: $3.50 each half hour; $22 maximum/day
