The Education Department plans, organises and co-ordinates the educational services for the Florentine State Museums.

The missionof the Education Department, founded in 1970, is to promote knowledge of the Florentine State Museums in differentiated brackets of the general public, with its principal activity being directed at schools.

The material

The Education Department offers schools specially produced educational material.

40 publications addressed partly to teachers and partly to students.
34 slide series complete with text and prepared for loan.
21,000 slides that can be consulted on the paper and electronic catalogue, and a specialist library.
