Chateau Royal De Blois

The Chateau de Blois is comprised of four separate chateaux, from four different eras, assembled around one central courtyard:
The Salle des états is an example of 13th century Gothicism, and the oldest of its kind in France.
The Louis XII wing, which makes Blois a royal residence, was built at the end of the 15th century and is an example of flamboyant Gothic and early Renaissance architecture.#
Francois I introduced 17th century Italian Renaissance architecture to the chateaux with the spiral staircase and the Loges facade.
Classic 17th century architecture is represented by the Gaston d’Orléans wing.
Francois I’s apartments in the chateau were frequented by Henri III, and it was in his room here on the second floor that the duke of Guise was assassinated, on the 23rd of December, 1588.
