Self-Guided Group Visits
The National Gallery also welcomes visits from self-guided groups.
We would like your group visit to be as pleasant and rewarding as possible. In order for us to be better prepared for your visit, we ask that self-guided groups are arranged in advance, as the Gallery's popularity means that it can sometimes become overcrowded and congested.
We welcome all groups, but please be aware that those groups that have made advance arrangements will take priority on the day.
You can organise a tailor-made tour or learning session for any group of between 10 and 25 adults.
We cater for a variety of groups, from businesses to book clubs, and friends who've arranged a private tour for a special occasion.
For many educational groups (including U3A, WEA, ESOL students and others involved in higher or further education), this is now a free service.
Membership: At present the National Gallery does not operate a friends scheme. However, we have often considered establishing one and the policy is currently under review. Entrance to the Gallery, to the majority of exhibitions and events and most services including lunchtime lectures and our extensive education programme is free and so we feel that we have little to offer such a group at present. However, the Gallery is keen to let people know about its wider programme of activities, and you can subscribe to our mailing list or e-news to receive information on all the Gallery's activities and events.
