| The Frick Collection
The Frick Collection was founded by Henry Clay Frick (1849-1919), the Pittsburgh coke and steel industrialist. At his death, Mr. Frick bequeathed his New York residence and the most outstanding of his many art works to establish a museum for the purpose of “encouraging and developing the study of the fine arts.

The Frick Collection, a house museum, has played a very significant role in the United States. It was, and continues to be, the model, the touchstone, for many other collectors and institutions — whether or not they achieve the standards of collecting or the atmosphere of The Frick Collection as we know it today. Since Mr. Frick’s death in 1919, the Collection has expanded both its physical dimensions and its holdings. Approximately one third of the pictures have been acquired since then, and twice — in 1931–35 and 1977 — the building has been expanded to better serve the public.

Admission to The Frick Collection
$15, adults; $10, senior citizens (62 and over); $5, students with valid identification. On Sundays, pay what you wish from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The price of admission includes the Acoustiguide audio tour. Admission is always free for Members.
There is no additional charge for special exhibitions.
Children under the age of 10 are not permitted, and those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Admission to the Frick Art Reference Library
The Frick Art Reference Library was founded to serve "adults with a serious interest in art," among them scholars, art professionals, collectors, and students. The Library is, therefore, open free of charge to all researchers with or without institutional affiliation. Use of the Library requires registration.

The Frick Collection is located on Manhattan's Upper East Side, on 70th Street at the corner of Fifth Avenue. The Frick Art Reference Library is around the corner on 71st Street between Fifth and Madison. Follow this link for more information, http://www.frick.org/information/directions.htm

The museum and library are fully accessible to visitors who use wheelchairs or walkers. (The museum and library also have wheelchairs available for visitors on a first-come / first-serve basis.)

Arrangements for group visits should be made at least two weeks in advance by telephone (212-288-0700), fax (212-628-4417), letter, or by e-mail to groupvisits@frick.org. Group visits may be scheduled Tuesday through Saturday. We regret that group reservations cannot be accepted for Saturdays after 12 noon or Sundays.
Please note that we are unable to accommodate, at one time, groups of more than fifty.
