St. Catherine in Ecstasy

Description:This piece is a wall-based textile piece made using a combination of silkscreening and gun-tufting techniques and mounted on a specially made board from MDF. The image chosen is of St. Catherine printed in a circular format, reminiscent of her torture by the wheel. For me, the piece embodies the multiplicity and excess of suffering while challenging the viewer's sense of what it means to perceive pleasure through the act of looking.
