I CLOTHED WITH BROIDERED WORK, AND SHOD WITH BADGERS’ SKIN,
I GIRDERED ABOUT WITH FINE LINEN, AND I COVERED WITH SILK.
I DECKED ALSO WITH ORNAMENTS, AND I PUT BRACELETS UPON HANDS,
AND A CHAIN ON NECK.
I PUT A JEWEL ON FOREHEAD, AND EARRINGS IN EARS,
AND A BEAUTIFUL CROWN UPON HEAD.
DECKED WITH GOLD AND SILVER;
AND RAINMENT OF FINE LINEN, AND SILK, AND BROIDERED WORK;
DID EAT FINE FLOUR, AND HONEY, AND OIL:

Work of art I would like to makeThe work will take the form of a mixed media installation. This installation will consist of a selection of sculptural and photographic works and perhaps a collection of newspapers. These objects will be placed in orbit around a film. The central concerns that inform both the film and its formal residues are masculinity, cultural ornamentation, affect, paternity, institution, ritual and a redistribution of hierarchy. These themes both circumnavigate and construct a relationship. A relationship between a young man and a father. |
