I create images that make us re-think the simple act of looking and perception. The monument is a recurring metaphor as it has traditionally been used as a mediation between historical and cultural milestones and signification. The work brings the outside of looking to the inside of a viewing space, the real of photographic representation to the virtual of digital manipulation, the past of historical significance to the present of modern ideology, the still of photography and the movement of video.

Work of art I would like to makeThe Streets Tell A Story the Stage No Longer Tells is a title that I have been working under to complete a series of films. Through a process of replacing the subject with digital manipulation I wanted to concentrate on the audience. Where the monument was, is now a void, but the cut out remains true to the plinth, in that the shape suggests a 3d form.
I am keen to continue working on similar videos and still images but would like to do so on a more physical basis. Creating screens to erect infront of designated areas of cultural viewing, and projecting my videos outside onto building or on advertisement screens. |
