Thoughts on Creativity
Maybe it is a spoken word , maybe a written word, music of the soul, a fleeting image of the past, a shadow on a wall, a moment of anger, of happiness but the seed begins its evolution towards completion, creating frenetic havoc within the paths of thought as the images are being stretched, weaving ,casting seemingly uncontrollable webs through every pulsing vessel of the mind’s experiences .
This evolution and completion evicts the demons and ghosts instantly, immediately vaporates the emotion of the mind and the process re-ignites . The moment of creation, a flight of unveiling, unmasking the mind and upon completion , satisfying , but upon closure becomes of very little relevance , cast into a void , as within a moment another image or word comes to play the game within the passages of thought.
She regards the camera is a tool, a magic weapon of capture, an instant art form through a lense, a means to an end.
The image cries to be captured , time may take it away in an instant , the crucial moment realised. It comes and calms the mind and smoothes the edges. It is within the mind these images fuse together.

Stepping from the classroom into the Asian Culture for 8 years was the beginning of what was to become a life changing passion. In Japan she immersed herself in the culture and
with limited photographic ,technological and art experience embraced this artform with a bizarre passion taking the images and transforming and fusing them within her mind whilst creating within no boundaries. She began a most amazing journey of discovery about herself and others. Producing 2 cd's of images/"Winter Knights" & "Images of Fuji"/for the Homeless of Hiroshima and the "Clean up Fuji" campaign gave her purpose whilst becoming more computer comfortable.. She started basic 2 layering using this tool as her weapon : her paintbrush to record her thoughts,as a writer with a pen. From Japan she moved to Shanghai and after discussion and encouragement from the editor of the magazine, "that's shanghai"/Stephen Crane , she began to confront and merge herself in more complex layering of images ,acquired through trial and error and it was then she realized the power of telling stories through the photographs she was taking. As her knowledge broadened, her images have become more challenging ,controversial ,confrontational and political to the viewer but then she also believes that the viewer may return again and again and make new discoveries and really interpret as they
wish .
She has been unable to separate her asian experiences and they have become as one within her mind.

Women Of The World Unite
2007 |
) |
| So much can and should be said about women.
Every woman in the world must make a difference.
We must continue to educate ourselves/everyday we must set a new challenge.
Women are the backbone of the family/we also have a right to an education/a right to dignity.
I have always struggled with the wonder of how women juggle their busy lives and not sure what the answer is.
We will always be responsible for bringing children into the world/be always concerned but even with babe in arms and out of the work force /whatever age/we have an important role to play/we are an integral cog in the wheel/we must continue to make a difference…...read ….read/educate online/involve ourselves in community/council/politics/ business. Gaining knowledge is like climbing Fuji san….....start out with nothing but hopes and dreams in your heart /half way up the mountain you will look back and think how did I ever do this/but every step of learning is a mind growing more powerful. Then the responsiblity is to use this power/knowledge gained in a way to benefit our world.
Nothing is impossible and everything possible if we work together.
When I create I have no one in mind particularly so please do not take offence. It is just that everywhere I go I meet amazing women and always my mind is filled with questions.

Carolyn Buckley’s eight years living in Japan and China ,experiencing a certain “Butterfly Effect” in her life ,has used photography to control this at times, toxic ripple but life changing experience. As her thought process seeps from her imagination she combines both cultures in so many of her creations. She depicts the world through her eyes by maybe choosing a single word which sets her going in a creative dreamlike mode. She creates with reckless abandon and her work is described as far from normal: bizarre, lyrical, enigmatic,,humorous sensual, innovative,a certain theatrical element and unique style whilst adding new dimensions. Much is left to interpretation by the viewer.
