Stephen Wride
Stephen can be contacted via The Oxford Studio, www.theoxfordstudio.com .
He started taking photographs with a Kodak Box Brownie in the 1960s and is still as keen a photographer nearly 50 years later. He now shoots digital, the end results either presented as taken or transformed into dense multi-layered artworks. About the Artist
Stephen studied at the Oxford School of Architecture and then worked in various architects offices.
In 1978 he started his next career as an artist. His silkscreen prints, paintings and drawings are in collections worldwide. Latterly, his artworks have tended to be created in the computer evolving from his own photographic work.
Through this interest, he has a parallel career as a fine-art photographer especially, but not exclusively, with botanical works. Stephen was made a licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society in 2007.
