The Intensity of Colour

The Intensity of Colour
Photo Description:
This realism project made me focus on fine detail when working on facial features. Exploring oil paints allowed me to expand on the detail within my paintings. To me, painting portraits is fascinating, everybody’s face is different and their character tells a story, inspiring me to try and represent this unique identity through painting. I often focus on a particular interesting element when creating portraits. For example, here I have experimented with paint dripping down the face of my subject, representing her personality through colour and texture - resulting in the painting looking more alive.
