After completing my stiching piece on the small canvas, I wanted to explore the area of sewing in a bit more depth. I looked at different artists, that have used different sewing techniques. One main artist that inspired this piece, was Marloes Duyker. Marloes used beutiful bold colours that comlimpented the face in his work, however, I wanted to use more subtle colours and fabrics. I did this because Penelope is a young child and the soft colours reflect her innocence and age. |
