Autumn Decay

Autumn Decay
Photo Description:
‘Autumn Decay’ By Hyein Son, from Queen Anne’s School, Caversham. A Level Materials: Mixed media on canvas In my contextual research and personal extended study I investigated the theme of scale change in painting and how it affects colour relationships. During the preparatory period for the examination I was working with enlarged leaves and flowers to a point of almost unrecognizability of the actual subject. I developed my initial studies in increasingly large mixed media paintings experimenting widely with a variety of fine art textiles processes. This is one of my studies. The work conveys the irony of decay which is the birth of something new particularly in terms of colour. I am currently on a Foundation course in Art & Design in London.
