"Leviathan" came from the topic of Similarities and Differences for my AS Level Final Piece. Around 350 origami fish are suspended from a upturned canvas. Onto it I projected an 8 minute long film. The film is comprised of youtube clips that I edited together with the poem “The Purse Seine”, by Robinson Jeffers, and "Lux Aeterna" By Clint Mansel. The idea around my work was to comment on the way in which humans exhibit shoal like behaviour; drawing comparisons between humans and fish based on the idea of "the big fish" i.e. dictators, executives and the those higher in the food chain such as sharks and whales. It is an integral statement based on the way in which I have fused film and sculpture. |
