Dreams of Paralympic Glory in Cubism (Tentative Title)

Dreams of Paralympic Glory in Cubism (Tentative Title)
Photo Description:
"To inspire a generation" - Sebastian Coe Being a Londoner myself I feel as though I have truly felt the full effects of the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics. And recently there has been much talk and critique of Sebastian Coe's coined phrase mentioned at the beginning of my painting description. 'Did these Olympics truly inspire a new generation of future Olympians or not?', whilst I am still uncertain as to whether London 2012 truly gave birth to a new breed of Olympians, I am positive and pleased to say that I have been inspired by my nations "sheer talent and determination". My Painting, tentatively titled, 'Dreams of Paralympic Glory in Cubism' reflects my bubbling inspiration drawn from my summer of sporting victory and depicts Paralympic Wheelchair Racer David Weir striving for the finish line. In Sebastian Coe's closing speech at the Paralympics 2012 he stated that "the Paralympians have lifted the cloud of limitation" and I feel that there is deep truth in that citation, as I feel that I would have been incapable of painting such a piece otherwise. Acrylic Paint on Canvas.
