With an Interest in Animals if my surrounding countryside environment, I decided to fuse together the stag and its native habitat with the materials that were available to me. For this, I used sticks, connoting forests and woodland. ‘Heather Jansch’ was my inspiration, whereby her sculptures, made from driftwood, represented the attributes of the animals she focused on. I wanted to include this demonstrative technique in my stag, showing the majestic power of its presence. I therefore called it ‘Majestic Form’. |
