Utamakura no kage
This is a shadow portrait photography taken with a medium format.
My original theme was ‘human form’ and throughout a range of research and experiments, I decided to explore this theme through shadow works. I was inspired by the Japanese artist; Kumi Yamashita’s installation work with strong appeals in shadows. I found this settle subject fascinating to study. I printed on the fibre paper in the dark room and the prints are dark and unclear to give an unique and mysterious mood.
