MDF Board, with acrylic, gloss & spray paint.
I began this project by studying the work of Jackson Pollock, I focused particularly on the shapes created by the unintentional scattering of paint. I then decided to create a sculpture from the shapes which were produced from my imitations of Jackson Pollock’s painting method. The shaped were projected and traced onto MDF board, before being cut out using a jig-saw. It was at this point which I decided upon the arrangement of the shapes which make the sculpture, and how they would fit together. I decided to paint the sculpture bright, juxtaposing colours, and used Pollock’s painting method to create a bright, energetic piece.
