Description: Feast of St. Benedict Festivity commemorated in the village MucuchÃes on the 29th of December, with the opportune intervention of the Santo Negrito (Black Saint) to allow for military victory of the army of the village. Intimidated by the fall in action of the color sergeant. Since then, the supporters of all villages in the neighborhood of MucuchÃes, have put in place a detailed organization to celebrate the benevolence of the Saint and convene the believers to a festive encounter. According to tradition, Saint Benito appeared in the form of a small statue in a denominated place in the valley of Balsa, in a house in ruins, from there he was transferred to the church of Mucuchies, where the portrait was overworked and a new one molded over the original one. This festivity is characterized by the great organization of an army formed by men, women and children commanded by the Black Saint symbolizing the combative spirit of Mucuchies. |
