Mutilation of Portraiture

Mutilation of Portraiture
Photo Description:
Through my experimentation stages of my A2 Photography course, I tried using different formats of film, digital - in and out of the studio, and for this photograph I used medium format black and white film. I have looked at different ways of distorting portraiture, and an artist that inspired me a lot was Connie Imboden. Her work was so inspirational, and yet no matter how hard I tried I could not fathom how to imitate her technique, and so experimented with Perspex. This particular image is influenced by tribal markings and painting strokes.
